The CSD is a place for community, empowerment and joie de vivre – as well as for political expression and self-determination.
So that everyone can feel safe and comfortable, we stand together against all forms of discrimination. Transgressions can happen anywhere – so we take care of each other.
What we do to achieve this:
+ We provide contact persons and a protected space to rest and retreat.
+ If you need support or a break, you are welcome there.
+ There are also some simple rules of behaviour that we would like to share with you:
Code of conduct
1. no place for discrimination
Queerophobia, racism, sexism, anti-semitism, hostility towards the disabled and similar forms of marginalisation are not tolerated.
2. no party or national flags
Party and national flags as well as corresponding symbols are not permitted at the CSD Göttingen. The CSD is a space for queer visibility.
3. respect boundaries
- No means no. Only yes means yes.
- No unwanted touching – not even of hair.
- Only photograph people with permission. Be careful not to take photos of recognisable faces without permission.
4. pay attention to your behaviour
- Respect names, pronouns and identities.
- No slurs or derogatory comments.
- Pay attention to your needs – and those of others.
- Help protect the boundaries of others.
- Please refrain from using drugs (including alcohol) at the parade – they are no excuse for assaultive behaviour.
- Please only smoke at a distance from others.
5. show solidarity
- Use your privileges to support others.
- If anyone needs help, help as best as you can – or contact our community/awareness team.
Awareness & contact persons at the CSD
Who will help you?
Our awareness team wears pink vests.
You will find us at the parade, at the street party and in the rest area (location: TFB (therapeutic women’s counselling (Groner Str.32/33)).
You can also approach the stewards in green vests – they will bring you to us.
When does the awareness team help you?
We are there for you if:
- you feel uncomfortable
- you have experienced discrimination
- you simply need a break
We listen to you, believe you and only act if you want us to.
You can also reach us after the CSD at: kontakt@csd-goettingen.de
(We don’t offer therapy or legal advice – but we do offer on-site support).
Rest & retreat areas
1. at the end of the parade there is a quieter area
2. quiet area in the TFB (therapeutic women’s counselling (Groner Str.32/33))
3. further retreat options at the street festival in the awareness tent
There you get: Water, noise protection, earplugs, dextrose, stimming toys and much more.
You can simply rest and be safe
Your limits count
You decide for yourself what you consider to be intrusive.
If someone bothers you (e.g. by saying stupid things or being intrusive):
- Say ‘stop’ if you can
- Get support from bystanders
- Come to the awareness team or speak to stewards
In the event of attacks from outside
If there are anti-queer attacks:
- Stay calm
- Protect each other
- Get help: stewards, awareness team or other people
Please note: Not all people can or want to rely on the police. People affected by racism and trans* people in particular are sometimes affected by police violence.
We stand together. Nobody stays alone. 🫶
